WOW...

Yet again time has gone astray since I last posted. I have been busy with family stuff and also with organising the Etsy Flood Appeal Store which had an amazing response and to date has raised over $6000 for the QLD Premiers Disaster Fund - fantastic work everyone, thank you for the support.
We will be closing the store later this week and that alone will be another huge job to notify all the stores that donated but there is still time to get something lovely and guilt free here.

The other thing I have been busily working on are some table numbers for my dear friend Fiona's wedding. She is getting married on 02 April but I am heading away for holidays so I wanted them ready before I went. She wanted something shabby chic in black and cream but also wanted to feature some Tiffany Blue ribbon. This is what I came up with, there are two different styles that will go on alternate tables:

And finally as I mentioned before I am going on holidays with my family to Bali for 3 weeks, I haven't been for that long before but this time Mum and I are going to Lombok for a couple of days so I am hoping to find some pretty fabrics and things that I can work with.
Hopefully I will get a chance to post again before I go,

The Fierceness of Mother Nature & How You Can Help

As you are most likely aware Australia is in the grips of a massive natural disaster at the moment. 22 Days ago a flood occurred in Rockhampton Queensland (QLD) devastating the town and we as Australian's did what we did best - we started to band together to help these people but no-one could imagine what would happen next. Instead of just seeping away mother nature decided that she would push our spirit of solidarity and humanity as far as she could.

The Lockyer Valley in Qld was hit by an inland tsunami last Monday, which decimated the town and then the water kept going and flooded the city of Brisbane by Wednesday affecting more than 40, 000 homes.

  • 75% of the state of Queensland has been affected by the flood (that is an area that is twice the size of Texas)
  • 15 people as of today have lost their lives
  • 55 people are missing including whole families
  • thousands of people are currently without a place to sleep

And fierce Mother Nature is not stopping there. Towns in the states of New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania are currently either experiencing flooding or are on alert to evacuate.

The Queensland Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal has been established to raise much needed funds for people and communities devastated by this natural disaster.

A collaboration of Etsy sellers have come together to help raise funds for this charity via the Etsian Flood Relief Appeal. The store is full of lots of wonderful handmade goodies and a 100% of proceeds from the sales (less Etsy and Paypal fees) will go directly to the appeal.

I urge you to head over and check out the store and if you can spread the word. (They have a facebook page here) This is a great way to own a fabulous handmade goody and feel warm and fuzzy knowing that you're helping a good cause at the same time.

Have a beautiful day,
